1. Download the ATIRAGE5.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the ATIRAGE5.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "ATI Rage Mobility-M1 AGP Display Driver Utility - InstallShield Wizard" box, click Next. Several setup boxes will briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically. The ATI Windows 2000 Driver Setup will launch.
   NOTE: If a "Confirm File Deletion" box appears, you have already installed this update. Click OK to remove the existing installation files and then repeat steps 4-10 to reinstall the update.
4. At the "Welcome" box, click Next.
5. At the "Software License Agreement" box, click Yes.
6. At the "Digital Signature Not Found" box, click Yes.
7. At the "Setup Complete" box, select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" and click Finish. As the computer restarts, the video hardware will be redetected and the drivers will be installed.

The ATI Rage Mobility-M1 AGP Display Driver installation is complete.

Changing the Video Resolution

The installation of the updated drivers may reconfigure the video settings. To change the video settings back to the preferred settings, please follow the steps below.

1. Click Start, point to Settings, point and click Control Panel.
2. At the "Control Panel" window, double-click the Display icon.
3. At the "Display Properties" box, click the Settings tab.
4. In the Settings tab, click the Advanced button.
5. At the "...ATI RAGE MOBILITY-M1 AGP (English) Properties" box, click the Monitor tab.
6. In the Monitor tab, in the "Monitor Settings" section, click the box next to "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" to uncheck it.
   NOTE: If the box next to "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" is already unchecked, skip to step J.
7. Click Apply to change the setting.
8. At the "...ATI RAGE MOBILITY-M1 AGP (English) Properties" message box, click OK. The screen may flicker or turn black briefly as the resolution is resized.
9. At the "Monitor settings" confirmation box, click Yes to accept the new resolution.
   NOTE: If you do not click Yes within 15 seconds, the resolution will revert to the previous settings.
10. Click OK to close the "...ATI RAGE MOBILITY-M1 AGP (English) Properties" box.
11. At the "Display Properties" box, in the "Screen area" section, adjust the slider to your preferred resolution.
12. In the "Colors" section, click the down-arrow and select your preferred color depth (if different than the current resolution).
13. Click the Apply button.
14. At the "Display Properties" message box, click OK to resize the Desktop. The screen may flicker or turn black briefly as the resolution is resized.
15. At the "Monitor settings" confirmation box, click Yes to accept the new resolution.
    NOTE: If you do not click Yes within 15 seconds, the resolution will revert to the previous settings.
16. Click OK to close the "Display Properties" box.
17. Click the X in the top-right corner to close the "Control Panel" window.

Uninstall Instructions

If it is necessary to reinstall the ATI Rage Mobility-M1 AGP Display Driver, you will need to first remove the ATIRAGE5.EXE installation files. To do so, please follow these steps:

1. Go to the directory where the ATIRAGE5.EXE file was downloaded and double-click it.
2. At the "ATI Rage Mobility-M1 AGP Display Driver Utility - InstallShield Wizard" box, click Next.
3. At the "Confirm File Deletion" window, click OK to remove all of its components.
4. At the "ReadOnly File Detected" window, check the "Don't display this message again" box and click Yes. Please wait as the installation files are removed.

The uninstallation process is complete. You may redownload and reinstall the ATIRAGE5.EXE file.

This utility installs the ATI Rage Mobility-M1 AGP Display driver.

• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
