1. Download the BIOS05K1.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the BIOS05K1.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "BIOS05K1 - Welcome" box, click Continue.
4. At the "BIOS Version W2K05K1 Upgrade Utility" screen, click Next.
5. At the "Copying Files" screen, insert a formatted bootable floppy disk in the disk drive (A:), and then click Next. Please wait as the files are copied to the floppy disk.
6. At the "Finish copying files" screen, verify that "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" is selected and click Finish to restart the computer. Be sure to leave the floppy disk in the floppy drive. The computer will boot the floppy disk and run the BIOS update utility. After the update is complete, the computer will turn off.
7. Eject the floppy disk from the drive. It is recommended that you keep the disk in a safe place if it becomes necessary to reinstall the BIOS update.
8. Turn on the computer.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the BIOS update is complete.

If it is necessary to run the BIOS05K1.EXE utility again, you will need to first remove the W2K05K1 installation files. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Go to the directory where the BIOS05K1.EXE file was downloaded and double-click it.
2. At the "BIOS05K1 - Welcome" window, click Continue.
3. At the "Setup" window, select "Remove" and click Next to remove the components.
4. Insert the bootable floppy disk back into the drive.
5. At the "Confirm File Deletion" box, click OK.
6. If a "ReadOnly File Detected" message box appears, click the box next to "Don't display this message again" to check it and then click Yes.
7. At the "Maintenance Complete" screen, click Finish.

• Before installing this update, be sure the computer is running from AC power. If the installation of the BIOS is interrupted by power loss, the computer may not operate correctly or at all!
• This procedure will install the computer BIOS . It may be necessary to remove and reinstall any installed hardware that did not ship with the computer. For assistance reinstalling the hardware, please consult the product documentation or contact the product manufacturer.
• To install this upgrade, the floppy drive will need to be installed in the notebook. You will also need to create a bootable floppy disk to receive the BIOS update files. To prepare a floppy disk for use with this update, please refer to the Create A Bootable Floppy Disk procedure.
• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
