Download & Install Guide:

  1. Download the GDM-C520.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
  2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the GDM-C520.EXE file to begin the installation.
  3. At the "GDM-C520 Information File" window, and select the directory to which the files are to be extracted and click the OK button.

    NOTE: The monitor files can either be extracted to a directory on your computer hard drive or onto a floppy disk.

    To extract the files onto a floppy disk:  Leave the A: entry, and put a floppy disk in the computer floppy disk drive and click the OK button.

    To extract the files to a directory on your computer hard drive: Click the Browse button. At the "Browse for Folder" window, navigate to the desired directory, and click the OK button.

    Please wait as the files are extracted.

    Windows XP operating system

    1. Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.
    2. At the "Control Panel" window, click the Display icon.
    3. At the "Display Properties" window, click the Settings tab, and then click the Advanced button.
    4. In the "[Monitor] and [Video Adapter]" window, click the Monitor tab.
    5. Click to select "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" in the "Monitor Settings" field, and then click the Properties button.

      NOTE: If the "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" option is greyed out, skip this step and just click the Properties button.

    6. Select the Driver tab, and then click the Update driver button.
    7. When the "Welcome to the Hardware Update Wizard" message appears, click to select "Install from a list of specific location" and then click the Next button.
    8. Click to select "Don�t search. I will choose the driver to install.", and then click the Next button.
    9. When the "Models:" dialog box appears, click the Have disk button.
    10. Click the Browse button.
    11. Navigate to the folder to which the files were extracted, and then click the Open button.
    12. From the model listing, select your monitor model and click the OK button.
    13. Click the Next button until the "Windows has finished installing the driver you selected for your hardware device." screen appears, and then click the Finish button.

    Windows 2000 operating system

    1. Click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
    2. At the "Control Panel" window, click the Display icon.
    3. Select the Settings tab and then click the Advanced button.
    4. Select the Monitor tab.
    5. Click to select "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display." in the "Monitor Settings" field, and then click the Properties button.

      NOTE: If the "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" option is greyed out, skip this step and just click the Properties button.

    6. Select the Driver tab, and then click the Update driver button.
    7. At the "Welcome to the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" message, click the Next button.
    8. Click to select "Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can choose a specific driver", and then click the Next button.
    9. When the "Models:" dialog box appears, click to select "Show all hardware of this device class."
    10. When the "Models:" dialog box appears, click the Have disk button.
    11. Click the Browse button.
    12. Navigate to the folder to which the files were extracted, and then click the Open button.
    13. From the model listing, select your monitor model and then click the OK button.
    14. Click the Next button until the "Windows has finished installing the driver you selected for your hardware device." message appears, and then click the Finish button.

What this drivers do:

This is a self-extracting file which contains the monitor .INF file that enables the configuration and use of the GDM-C520 monitor with the Microsoft® Windows® 2000 and the Microsoft® Windows® XP operating systems.

Important Note:

  • During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
  • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
  • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
