Download & Install Guide:
- Download the LANC.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
- Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the LANC.EXE file to begin the installation. The program executes immediately.
- Close the MS-DOS window.
- Double-click on INSTALLVD.BAT. INSTALLVD.BAT executes immediately. It renames the current version of LANC to LANC.OLD to archive it, then installs the new version of LANC in directory C:VDIRDRIVERS, the default location.
NOTE: If you have a custom installation of Video Director that has LANC installed in a different directory path, you will need to copy the file manually to the directory containing the Video Director drivers. - Close the MS-DOS window.
- Restart the computer. Video Director's features should be enabled.

This utility installs a Video Director Software Upgrade to allow the Video Director software to be successfully used on the Sony computer.
Important Note:
- Performing a Recovery of your computer system may delete this version of LANC. You may wish to store the downloaded LANC.EXE on a floppy disk to reinstall in that event.
- To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
- It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
