1. Download the MDMXGME.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the MDMXGME.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "HCF Modem Driver Utility for Microsoft Windows Millennium - Welcome" box, click Continue. Several setup boxes will briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically.
4. At the "Setup Complete" screen, select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" and click Finish. As the computer restarts, the modem hardware will be redetected and the updated drivers will be installed.
   NOTE: If a "Confirm File Deletion" box appears, you have already installed this update. Click OK to remove the existing installation files and then repeat steps 4-6 to reinstall the update.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the updated modem driver is complete.

Uninstall Instructions

If it is necessary to reinstall the Conexant HCF PCI Modem Driver, you will need to first remove the MDMXGME.EXE installation files. To do so, please follow these steps:

1. Go to the directory where the MDMXGME.EXE file was downloaded and double-click it.
2. At the "HCF Modem Driver Utility for Microsoft Windows Millennium - Welcome" box, click Continue.
3. At the "Confirm File Deletion" window, click OK to remove all of its components. Please wait as the installation files are removed.

The uninstallation process is complete. You may redownload and reinstall the MDMXGME.EXE file.

Conexant HCF PCI Modem Driver Update Utility, Version 2.12 for the Microsoft® Windows® Millennium Edition (ME) Operating System

• Before installing Windows Millennium Edition or this update, please be sure to read Sony's Installing the Microsoft® Windows® Me Operating System. Most of Sony's Windows Millennium Edition software updates require you to install Windows Millennium Edition in C:WINDOWS. If Windows Millennium Edition is not installed in this location, these updates will not install correctly.
• If a Windows Millennium Edition BIOS update is available for your model of notebook, be sure to install it before installing this update.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
