1. Download the PCGAUPC1.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the PCGAUPC1.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "USB to Parallel Driver" screen, click Finish.
4. At the "Copying Completed" screen, click OK.
5. Plug the USB-to-Parallel cable into the notebook USB port. Windows will detect the new device and launch the Add New Hardware Wizard.
6. At the "This wizard searches for new drivers for:" screen, click Next.
7. At the "What do you want Windows to do?" screen, select "Search for the best driver for your device. (Recommended)." and click Next.
8. At the "Windows will search for new drivers..." screen, click to check the box next to "Specify a location:".
9. In the "Specify a location:" box, type:
   C:Usb_parallel
   and click Next.
10. At the "Windows driver file search for the device:" screen, click Next.
11. At the "USBHawk TypeS USB Cable" screen, click Finish.

The USB-to-Parallel driver installation is now complete. However, in order to print from the printer, it will be necessary to install the drivers from the printer manufacturer. When installing the printer driver, be sure to select the "LPT_USB1" port, and not the standard LPT or COM ports. For assistance installing the printer driver, please refer to the printer documentation or contact the printer manufacturer. Once the printer driver is installed, you will be able to print through the Sony PCG-C1X USB port.

This utility installs the Sony® PCGA-UPC1 USB-To-Parallel Converter Cable driver.

• Before installing this update, if the USB floppy drive is attached, disconnect it from the PCG-C1X USB port.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
