1. BEFORE installing this update, it is necessary to identify the DVD/CD Drive installed in the computer, which will determine whether or not this update is required.
   1. Click "Start" and then click "Control Panel".
   2. At the "Control panel" window, click the System icon.
   3. At the "System properties" box, click the "Hardware" tab and then click the "Device Manager" button.
   4. At the "Device Manager" window, click the (+) sign next to DVD/CD-ROM drives category to expand the menu.
   5. The second device listed should be "PIONEER DVD-ROM DVD-119R".
      • If this device is listed, please continue with this update.
      • If it is NOT, do not continue with the steps below because this update is NOT for your system.
2. Download the PI-410700801KS.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the PI-410700801KS.EXE file to begin the installation.
4. At the "1 target device(s) is found. Do you want to upgrade all drives?" message box, click "Yes". Please wait while the DVD-ROM firmware is upgraded.
   WARNING!!: Do not interrupt the update process, as it may damage the drive.
5. At the "Upgrade operation is completed" message box, click "OK".
6. At the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen, select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now." and click "Finish".

After the computer restarts, the installation of the Pioneer® DVD-RW Drive Firmware Update Utility is complete.

This utility updates the Pioneer® DVD-119R DVD-ROM Drive Firmware and enhances the DVD-ROM drive performance when reading CD/DVD media.

• WARNING!: This firmware update is specifically for the Pioneer® DVD-119R DVD-ROM Drive. Do not install this update if you do not have this drive installed on your computer, as it may render the drive or system inoperable. Use the steps below to check whether or not your computer has the Pioneer® DVD-119R DVD-ROM Drive.
• Please eject any CDs or DVDs that may be in the DVD-ROM drive before installing this update.
• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
