1. Download the PIFOPD-00826200-US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double click the PIFOPD-00826200-US.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "Pioneer DVR-106 Firmware Update for Microsoft® Windows® XP " box, click "Next".
4. At the "License Agreement" dialog box, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree".
5. At the "DVR-106DVA F/W1.10" dialog box, click "Install".
6. At the "UPGDVD" dialog box, click "OK".
   NOTE: Please wait while the DVD-RW firmware is flashed.
   WARNING!!: Do not interrupt the update process, as it may damage the drive.
7. After the firmware update process is complete, click "OK".

After the computer restarts, the installation of the Pioneer DVR-106 DVD±RW optical drive firmware is complete.

This utility updates the Pioneer® DVR-106 DVD±RW Optical drive firmware to support the playback of DVD±RW Dual Layer single session finalized discs.

• During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
