1. Download the PIFOPD-00828700-US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the PIFOPD-00828700-US.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "Pioneer® DVD+-RW DVR-107DVA Drive Firmware Update" box, click "Next".
4. At the "License Agreement" dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree" to continue with the installation.
5. At the "DVR-107DVA/DVB F/W 1.20" box, click "Install".
6. At the "UPGDVD" box, click "Yes".
   NOTE: At this point the drive will be updated with the new firmware. This process may take a few minutes.
   IMPORTANT: If the drive ejects while the update is being installed, do not close the drive until after the firmware update is complete.
   
   WARNING!: Do not close the DOS box windows.
7. When the "UPGDVD" box displays "Please reboot your PC now", click "Yes" to restart the computer.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the Pioneer® DVD+-RW DVR-107DVA Drive Firmware Update is complete.

This utility updates the Pioneer® DVR-107DVA DVD�RW Drive Firmware to version 1.20 and enables the drive to read Dual Layer DVD+R single session finalized discs.

• WARNING!: This firmware update is specifically for Pioneer DVR-107DVA DVD�RW drives. Do not run this update if you do not have one of these drives in the computer.
• IMPORTANT: Before installing this update, it is necessary to identify the DVD/CD Drive installed on the computer, which will determine whether or not this update is required.
  1. Click "Start", (select "Settings" if using the "Classic Start Menu") and then click "Control Panel".
  2. At the "Control Panel" window, click the "System" icon.
  3. At the "System Properties" box, click the "Hardware" tab and then click the "Device Manager" button.
  4. At the "Device Manager" window, click the (+) sign next to "DVD/CD-ROM drives" category to expand the menu.
  5. One of the devices listed should be "PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-107D" (typically it is the second item listed). If it is, please continue with this update. If it is not, then this update is not for your system.
• Please eject any CDs or DVDs that may be in the DVD/CD-RW drive before you run this update.
• During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
