1. Download the RNOW301.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the RNOW301.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. Please follow the on-screen prompts carefully to complete the installation. After the installation is complete, restart the computer.

This utility updates the VERITAS RecordNow DX™ CD/DVD Recording application. For the PCV-RX580 model only, it also resolves the issue where when using the "Make an Exact Copy" option of the RecordNow DX Wizard to backup over 2GB of data, the temporary file (~cevts) created on the hard drive may not be automatically erased when the process is complete.

• If the Sony System Recovery CDs are used to restore the computer to the original shipping configuration, this update will need to be reinstalled.
• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
