1. Download the SO-Q50020801E3.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SO-Q50020801E3.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "Sony® Giga Pocket® 5.5 Update Utility - InstallShield Wizard" box, click Next.
4. A "Your system will now reboot" message box will appear. Click OK to restart the system. After the computer restarts, installation of the update will continue. Several setup boxes will briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically.
5. At the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen, select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now." (if it has not been selected) and click Finish.

After the computer restarts, installation of the Sony Giga Pocket 5.5 Update Utility software is complete.

This utility restores the Sony® Giga Pocket® application, version 5.5, to the original shipping version for systems that have been recovered using the optionally purchased recovery media (RDVDs or HRCDs). This following issues are resolved:

• Video Capsule data is lost if the Cancel button is clicked while moving Video Capsules between cabinets.
• No picture is shown when launching the Giga Pocket application.
• Runtime errors occur when launching the Giga Pocket application.
• Start and end times of Timer Recordings overlap.
• Unable to playback Video Capsules that are located on external i.LINK® Hard Disk Drives.
• Thumbnails disappear when moving many Video Capsules to another cabinet.

• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
