1. Download the SO-S025B0C03HP04US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SO-S025B0C03HP04US.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "Sony DW-U54A V2 and DVD-RW DW-U55A Firmware Update Utility for Microsoft® Windows® 2000 and XP " box, click Next.
4. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree" to continue with the installation.
5. At the "Firmware Updater" dialog box, click Yes
6. At the "Sony DVD/CD RW Drive Firmware Updater" dialog box, click the "Start Update" button.
7. At the "Before Updating" dialog box, click Yes to restart the system. After the computer restarts, the Firmware Update Utility will launch automatically.
8. At the "Start Update" dialog box click Yes to confirm the Firmware Update. Please wait while the DVD RW firmware is flashed.
   WARNING!!: Do not interrupt the update process, as it may damage the drive.
9. At the "Update Completed Successfully" dialog box, click Yes to restart the computer.

After the computer restarts, the firmware update is complete.

This utility will update the firmware of the Sony® DW-U54A V2 / DW-U55A DVD+-RW drive to provide support for playback of a DVD+R Double Layer single session finalized disc.

• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
