1. To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
2. Download the SOASSL-00598801-US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SOASSL-00598801-US.EXE file to begin the installation.
4. At the "Sony® Shared Library for Microsoft® Windows® XP" screen, click "Next".
5. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree" to continue with the installation.
   NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically.
6. At the "Install" box, click "OK" to restart the computer.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the Sony® Shared Library is complete.

Installing the Sony® Shared Library on your VAIO® computer on which you have performed a clean install of the Windows XP operating system, enables you to recover applications using the Recovery Media Kit for your computer.

This utility installs the originally shipped version of the Sony® Shared Library for Microsoft® Windows® XP. This utility is recommended if you have performed a clean install of the Microsoft® Windows® XP operating system (i.e., installed from a commercial, off-the-shelf, version rather than using the Recovery Wizard or Recovery Media Kit).

• During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
