1. Download the SOQ05A3BGH.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SOQ05A3BGH.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "Sony® DVgate Update Utility (for DVgate versions 2.3-2.5) - InstallShield Wizard" box, click "Next". Several setup boxes will briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically.
   NOTE: If an "Information" box appears prompting you to reboot, click OK. After the computer restarts, please continue with step 4 above.
4. At the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen, verify "Yes, I want to restart my computer now." is selected and click "Finish".

After the computer restarts, the installation of the Sony® DVgate™ Software Update Utility is complete.

This utility resolves the following issues:

• Image from a DV device may not display.
• The indicators during capture may not be correct.
• Recording error (duplication) may occur when exporting to a DV device.
• "Scan Forward From the Current Position" may cause the application to exit or crash.
• The application may exit or crash when exporting AVI files to MPEG2.
• Unexpected noise may occur when exporting to a DV device.
• DV-AVI files exported from Adobe Premiere 6.0 or 6.0 LE without VAIO Edit Components cannot be imported.
• Video that contains Stereo 2 audio channel information becomes corrupt when capturing.
• The application may stop responding when attempting to export video to a DV device without DV-IN capability.

This utility adds the following application enhancements:

• Importing, exporting, and conversion of AVI 2.0 is now supported.
• The file size limit for exporting MPEG2 files has been increased to 4 GB.
• DV-AVI files exported from Adobe Premiere 6.0 or 6.0 LE without VAIO Edit Components can now be imported if the Video/Audio interleave setting is set to "1 Frame."

• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
