1. Download the SUDLLME.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
3. Click "Start" and click "Run".
4. At the "Run" box, in the "Open:" field, type MSCONFIG and click "OK".
   NOTE: The System Configuration Utility will start.
5. At the "System Configuration Utility" box, click the "Startup" tab.
6. On the "Startup" tab, scroll through the list and locate the "PPK Setup(Server)" entry.
7. Click the box next to the "PPK Setup(Server)" entry to uncheck it.
8. Click "OK" to close the "System Configuration Utility" box.
9. At the "System Settings Change" box, click "Yes" to restart the computer.
   NOTE: After the computer restarts, if a "System Configuration Utility" box appears, select "Don't show this dialog again" and click "OK".
10. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SUDLLME.EXE file to begin the installation.
11. At the "Sony Utilities Dynamic Link Library Utility for Microsoft Windows Millennium - Welcome" box, click "Continue".
    NOTE: Several setup boxes will briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically. The InstallShield Wizard will launch.
12. At the "Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for Sony Utilities DLL" screen, click "Next".
13. At the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen, click "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" (if it isn't already selected) and click "Finish".
    NOTE: If a "Welcome" box appears, you have already installed this update. Please follow the steps in the Uninstallation Instructions section below to uninstall the SUDLLME.EXE file. After the notebook restarts, repeat this procedure, starting with step 10, to reinstall the update.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the Sony Utilities Dynamic Link Library is complete.

• Before installing Microsoft® Windows® Me operating system, or the Sony software updates for Windows Me operating system, please be sure to read Sony's Installing the Microsoft® Windows® Me Operating System. Most of the Sony software updates for Windows Me operating system require you to install Windows Me operating system as an upgrade to the Sony factory-shipped version of Windows 98 or 98 SE operating system.
• If the Windows 98 or 98 SE operating system is removed from the computer before installing Windows Me operating system, or if Windows Me operating system is installed in a different directory than the default selection (C:Windows), most of the Sony updates for Windows Me operating system will not install correctly.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
