  • BEFORE installing this update, it is necessary to identify the DVD/CD Drive installed on the computer, to determine whether or not this update is required.
    1. Click "Start" and click "Control Panel".
    2. At the "Control Panel" window, click the "System" icon.
    3. At the "System properties" box, click the "Hardware" tab and then click the "Device Manager" button.
    4. At the "Device Manager" window, click the "+" sign next to the "DVD/CD-ROM drives" category to expand the menu.
    5. One of the devices listed should be "HL-DT ST DVD-RW GWA-4082B". If it is, please continue with this update. If it is not, then this update is not for your computer.
  • Before launching the firmware update, it is necessary to disconnect all peripherals devices, and disconnect all network cables.
