• This update will not prevent the error message from being displayed in the following circumstances:
  • Attempting to copy video from a copy protected source: Video from most prerecorded VHS tapes or video DVD is factory encoded with copy protection. This update does not allow genuine copy protection to be circumvented.
  • Attempting to copy video from a low quality source: Giga Pocket may erroneously interpret low quality video (for example, from a deteriorating VHS tape) as being copy protected. If it is certain that the source video is not copy protected, it may be possible for the Video Recorder software to copy it if the original content can be either restored to a higher level of quality or pre-processed via an external video converter.
• Before installing this update, please install the Giga Pocket 4.1 Update (if it hasn't already been installed).
• If the Giga Pocket software is reinstalled (including when the computer is completely restored to the original factory-shipped configuration using the Sony System Recovery CDs), this update will also need to be reinstalled.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
